Owl Box Workshop
Back by popular demand!
On Saturday May 6th HPWA will host two Screech Owl nest box building workshops at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Cedarville (1144 Long Pond Rd) from 10 am till 12 pm and from 12 pm till 2 pm.
Screech Owls are common in our watershed and will often choose a backyard as their home base when a nest box is offered. These raptors are excellent at helping control the rodent and insect population around your home. Even if you don’t get an owl right away, well placed boxes have proven attractive to many other hole-nesters such as kestrels, wood ducks, flickers, nuthatches, crested flycatchers, flying squirrels, gray squirrels, and pine squirrels.
Register below, or email Phil at angell_phil@yahoo.com for either the 10AM-Noon workshop or the 12-2PM time slot.
Registration is limited to 25 builds per time slot (but you can bring the family to help you). Suggested donations of $25 (more or less depending on your means) can be made at the workshop to help HPWA recoup expense for materials. No tools or experience required. However, bringing a cordless drill or impactor with a Phillips head driver would be helpful, if you have one.
Bring your donation with you, or donate online.
See you at noon Saturday
We are so excited to make these tomorrow.
