Who is Herring Ponds Watershed Association

WHO WE ARE

What is the Herring Ponds Watershed Association?

WE ARE NOT JUST ABOUT PONDS AND STREAMS!
The Herring Ponds Watershed includes 4,450 acres of land, including eleven ponds. We work to preserve all key habitats, and open space. We monitor water quality and flows in our ponds, and strive to educate citizens about sustainable watershed living.

Our efforts have led to strategic land preservation.
Our water sampling has led to remediation projects on Great Herring Pond funded by local and state government; our advocacy has preserved critical parcels; our educational programs have reached many. We still have lots to do!

HPWA continues to build effective partnerships with other non profits and town and state officials to:

• Preserve and restore high priority habitats
• Protect sensitive areas from sprawling development
• Reduce pollutants entering our waters
• Promote nature education and quality of life
