HPWA Upcoming Events 2026
August 8, 2pm – Annual HPWA Picnic on the Pond at Weston’s Beach, 173 Herring Pond Rd. Join neighbors and make new friends on this fun afternoon with food, games, boat tours and water activities. Bring an appetizer, salad or dessert to share. HPWA will provide hamburgers and hot dogs, waters, soft drinks and paper goods. Feel free to stop by anytime all afternoon and join the fun.
August 13 and 16, 6:30pm – Boat Tours of GHP: Enjoy a leisurely pontoon boat ride around Great Herring Pond and learn about the nature, environment and history of the largest pond in Plymouth that contributes so much to the quality of life in our watershed. Contact Trish O’Brien at pobrien140@verizon.net if you would like to join the roughly 1 1/2 hour excursion.
August 20, 7pm – HPWA Annual Meeting, Little Red School House. Join our Annual Meeting for updates from committee chairs on HPWA activities and projects, election of the Board of Directors and some social time to meet and greet other members. This is your opportunity to ask questions and offer suggestions. President Don Williams and Vice President Michelle Christensen, committee members of the Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan, will share what the committee has been discussing for our area of South Plymouth.
September 27, 4-7pm – HPWA Gala Fundraiser for Land Acquisition Fund. HPWA will be hosting our first Gala Fundraiser at the Bournedale Function Facility to raise funds to enable a future contribution to help the Town of Plymouth purchase land in our watershed for conservation. It will be a festive dinner with music, raffles and a silent auction. Our honored guest will be Senator Dylan Fernandes. If you purchase tickets before August 1st you will receive 10 free raffle tickets. October 24, 10 am – noon or 1pm – 3pm – Owl Nesting Box Workshops
Put together an owl nesting box for your yard. Pre-cut wood and all the materials will be provided for a donation of $45. Bring a battery powered drill if you have one, or one will be provided, along with helpful assistants. Choose the morning or afternoon session.
